Build your self-sufficiency and autonomy as an independent, multi-faceted movement artist, and visit GALLIM company rehearsal to practice!

“Dancing with the Camera: PHOTOGRAPHING MOVEMENT” with Maria J. Hackett is a full day immersion that will teach best practices for photographing movement. Learn how to work with existing lighting, space, and movement to achieve the photographic results you desire to best showcase you and your work. "Dancing with the Camera" programming provides tools that will help break down basic camera functions while gaining familiarity with camera usage to create self-sufficient practices for sharing you and your work with the world. We will also work through the realities of lighting challenges that can arise when working in natural/available light settings and how to overcome them.

Participants will warm up in GALLIM Methods movement class and practice photographing each other with one-on-one feedback and assistance from Hackett in a movement photography session.

Included in this workshop is a visit to GALLIM company rehearsal the week of January 8th to put your photography skills in motion!
