GALLIM is hosting a three-day immersion, for professional and pre-professional dancers on the West Coast. Participants will dive into GALLIM technique, creative methodologies, special guest artist classes, filming sessions, and award winning repertory by Artistic Director Andrea Miller.

SESSIONS
GALLIM METHODS is a movement technique training which practices Andrea Miller’s movement philosophy and creative methodology through a guided conversation between the body's network of systems and the imagination. Through a combination of guided improvisation and focused exercises, the class brings nuanced attention to regions of the body, its availability for movement, range, coordination, texture, and creative expression in relationship to the rest of the body and its experience within space, time, music, and art.
GALLIM Repertory is known for Miller’s exploration of the essential elements of human behavior and the alchemy of movement, performance, and collaboration. In repertory sessions participants learn award winning repertory and are immersed in an intimate rehearsal environment, receiving coaching from senior GALLIM stagers to hone personal expression and build dynamic movement range. Repertory class provides students a glimpse into company life and how GALLIM approaches rehearsing and staging repertory works.

Eligibility
The GALLIM Experiences are open to all preprofessional and professional movement artists with prior experience and an interest in training in GALLIM technique and repertory. Participants must be at least 16 years of age to participate. Enrollment is first come, first served.
Tuition
Early Bird Tuition: $400
Full Tuition after July 5th: $450

Founder / Artistic Director / Choreographer

ANDREA MILLER is a choreographer, creative director, and founder of the internationally renowned multidisciplinary organization GALLIM. A Hispanic creator and collaborator for dance, film, fashion, and the visual arts, Miller is known for her exploration of the essential elements of human behavior and the alchemy of movement and performance. Miller is a Guggenheim, Sadler's Wells, New York City Center, and Princess Grace Fellow, and was featured in Forbes as an entrepreneur and leader in the dance world. She is the first choreographer to be named Artist in Residence at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, creating two large scale works for The Temple of Dendur and the fifth floor of The Met Breuer. Her visual art collaborations include a sound, sculpture, and performance installation for Lincoln Center processing the pandemic as well as collaboration with visual artist Antony Gormley at White Cube, Phyllida Barlow with ENB and works for The Glass House, Art Basel, Frieze Festival, Grace Farms, and Grand Central Station.
Miller’s dance works are presented by leading institutions and festivals around the world including Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, City Center, The Joyce, Jacob’s Pillow, BAM, Royal Albert Hall, Sadler's Wells, London Royal Opera House, Théâtre National de Chaillot, Teatre Grec of Barcelona, Theaterhaus Stuttgart, Canal Madrid, Teatro Nacional de Panamá, DanceHouse Vancouver, Spoleto Festival, and others.
Recent dance commissions include English National Ballet, New York City Ballet, Martha Graham Dance Company, Bern Ballet, TanzLuzern, Noord Nederland Dans, Pennsylvania Ballet, A.I.M by Kyle Abraham, Rambert2, NDT2, Ailey II, and The Juilliard School.
Film collaborations include celebrated directors Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost, Xavier Dolan, Ezra Hurwitz, Bat-Sheva Guez, and long time collaborator Ben Stamper.
Her collaborations in fashion and brands include multiple collaborations with Hermès as well as VOGUE, Bergdorf and Goodman, SportsMax, KSwiss, Lacoste, Target, Calvin Klein, Crate & Barrel, SLS Hotels Miami and Las Vegas, and Beautiful Destinations. Miller serves on the board of Chelsea Factory and The Doris Humphrey Foundation.
Miller’s repertory, creative methodology and dance training have been taught through the GALLIM School of Movement as well as The Juilliard School, NYU, UC Kaufman, Harvard, Barnard, Marymount Manhattan, and others. She has been Adjunct Professor at Marymount Manhattan College and Barnard, and guest faculty at The Juilliard School, where she is an alumna.

MIKE TYUS is an acclaimed dancer, choreographer, filmmaker, and creative director from Los Angeles, California. For more than 15 years, Mike has performed and created internationally, captivating audiences through his unique fusion of circus theater, acrobatics, ballet, and Greco-Roman wrestling. As a performer, he has starred in Cirque Du Soleil’s IRIS and KOOZA, joined Pilobolus Dance Theater, and appeared in works by Ryan Heffington, Philippe Decouflé, and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. He has also been a contributing choreographer and performer for Emursive Productions’ LIFE & TRUST and Associate Choreographer for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s immersive MASQUERADE on Broadway.
As a choreographer, has created notable works including Holy for Le Ballet Opéra de Avignon, Stoned for Conflux Dance Theater, as well as commissions for SuperBlue Museum, The Broad Museum, LA Dance Project, Joffrey Ballet’s Winning Works, and Peridance Contemporary Dance Company. Mike's films include ELSEWHERE, aired on PBS, and works archived by MoMA. He has choreographed for FKA Twigs’ Esexua world tour, Zendaya’s Lancôme campaign, Grace VanderWaal’s tour, and music videos for Adekunle Gold and Anna Margo.
Dedicated to education, Mike has taught at CalArts, MIT, Point Park, Utah University, CLI Conservatory, Gibney, Peridance, SALT Dance, and more. As a creative director, Tyus has developed campaigns for Apple, SONY, Anthropologie, and Abercrombie & Fitch. Most recently, he served as Movement Director for a new mural commissioned by Lincoln Center for JFK Airport, to be unveiled in 2026. At the heart of Mike's mission lies community and creation, and building works that reflect and uplift the human spirit.
CHAWANTÁ MARIE is an Emmy and Grammy Award-winning dancer, choreographer, and educator from Washington, D.C. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dance from Long Island University and has trained extensively across multiple dance styles, developing a versatile foundation that has taken her around the world.
As a principal dancer, Chawnta’ has performed in Broadway productions including Showboat and The First Noel. She has also served as a company member, administrator, and director with the Earl Mosley Institute of the Arts and Deeply Rooted Dance Theater. Her professional journey has included collaborations with esteemed organizations such as Debbie Allen Dance Academy and Alvin Ailey.
Chawnta’ is currently a touring dancer for Grammy Award-winning recording artist Lizzo. Her choreography was featured on the Amazon Prime series Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls. Her performance credits span film, television, and live productions, including portraying one of Sofia’s sisters in the Oscar-nominated film The Color Purple, as well as appearances at the BET Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, Grammy Awards, BRIT Awards, and Saturday Night Live, among many others.
Passionate about inspiring the next generation, Chawnta’ is dedicated to mentoring and educating young artists. Through her teaching, she combines technical excellence, artistry, and real-world industry experience to empower dancers with the confidence, discipline, and tools needed to thrive both on and off the stage.
