GALLIM Artists

SYDNEY CHOW

Sydney Chow was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, where she was named a YoungArts winner in Modern/Contemporary Dance. She then received her BFA in dance and minor in computer programming from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Since graduating, she has performed works by Gabrielle Lamb, Rohan Bhargava, and most recently Crystal Pite and Chuck Wilt at Springboard Danse Montreal. She joined Gallim for their fall season in 2022 and is very grateful to be continuing with the company.

MARC ANTHONY GUTIERREZ

Marc Anthony Gutierrez (he/him) is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, where he began his dance training with DACPAC under the direction of Cheryl Copeland and Dominique Lomuljo. He received his BFA from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance as a scholarship recipient in 2022. Over the years, he has had the privilege of performing works by Sidra Bell, Andrea Miller, Kyle Abraham, Doug Varone, and Cindy Salgado. During his senior year of college he began working for Gallim and is grateful to be joining them on another project.

DONTERREO CULP

Donterreo Culp is a New York City-based freelance dancer and choreographer with a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from East Carolina University and a minor in Business Administration. In 2018 he received the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Award, which allowed him to create an evening’s length work and really hone in on his choreographic processes. Donterreo's passion for dance has led him to perform with renowned choreographers such as Kyle Abraham, Alanna Morris, Richard Smith, Jennifer Archibald and many more. He has attended prestigious programs such as Springboard Danse Montreal and the Trinity Laban London Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Donterreo has worked with Nimbus Dance, performing works by Sofia Nappi, Kristen Klein, Dawn Marie Bazemore, and Samuel Pott. He is currently a company member with Gallim Dance under the direction of Andrea Miller. Donterreo is always seeking opportunities to collaborate with artists who are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in dance and strives to create works that are true and authentic.

NOUHOUM KOITA

Nouhoum Koita is a Japanese and Malian dance artist from Brooklyn, NY. He started his training at the National Dance Institute. Koita then went on to train at LaGuardia Arts High School and the Juilliard School. He is also an alumni of MOVE|NYC|‘s Young Professionals Program under the direction of Nigel Campbell and Chanel DaSilva. In 2020, Koita was named a National YoungArts Finalist at the Gold Award level, and a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts. Koita has performed works by Trisha Brown, Roderick George, Ohad Naharin, Shamel Pitts, and Andrea Miller.

GARY REAGAN

Gary Reagan is originally from Pennsylvania and has trained in dance since a young age.  He graduated from The University of the Arts with a B.F.A. in Dance in 2015.  During college, he received additional international dance training from renowned schools in France, Belgium, and Israel and performed in works by Sidra Bell, Netta Yerushalmy, Ohad Naharin, and Sharon Eyal. As a professional dancer since 2015 he has worked with Ate9 Dance Company, Gallim Dance Company, and appeared in various commercials, dance films, and music videos.  For the past 3 years, he has lived in Israel and worked as a freelancer dancing for Yael Schiller, Sharon Vazanna, Andrea Costanzo Martini, and Roy Assaf. Gary is also a dance educator working with Gallim, universities, and dance studios instructing students in new ways of movement.  He currently lives in New Jersey with his spouse and is excited to be back with Gallim.

INDIA HOBBS

India Hobbs is a professional dancer who is currently based in Brooklyn, New York. Before attending high school, Hobbs trained at The Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center where she studied ballet, pointe, Horton, and contemporary under Homer Bryant. In 2013, Hobbs continued her training at The Chicago Academy for the Arts ‘17. During India’s time at The Academy, she performed in works created by Brian Brooks, Jonathan E. Alsberry, Stephanie Martinez, and Preston Miller. After receiving her high school diploma, Hobbs attended The Boston Conservatory’21, where she has worked with Catherine Coury, Loni Landon, Mark Morris, Martha Nichols, and Avery Gerhardt. India has also gained experience from company and summer workshops held by, Kyle Abraham’s A.I.M’19, Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet’15, and Arthur Mitchell’s Dance Theatre of Harlem’15. In 2021, Hobbs performed an improvisational piece alongside artist, LeAndra Leseaur, as she debuted an immersive installation at The Shed’s 2021 Open Call exhibition. India has also had the privilege to perform in Krakow, Poland at the 3...2...1...DANCE Festival located at the Krakowskie Centrum Choreograficzne. Performing a solo choreographed by Avery Gerhardt, Hobbs received the second individual prize awarded by Weronika Pelczyńska. India is currently a company artist in Andrea Miller’s dance company, GALLIM, and has been with the company for three projects, performing a variety of Miller’s repertory. Most recently, Hobbs has also collaborated and performed with Brooklyn based collective, Haus of PVMNT, as well as choreographer, Olga Rabetskaya. India is excited to continue evolving as a performing artist through collaboration, exploration, and community.

BRYAN TESTA

Bryan Testa (he/him) is a New York City based dancer from Rochester, New York. It is there where he trained at Dance Dimensions by Susan, under the direction of Susan Beckman, and the Timothy M. Draper Center for Dance Education, under the direction of Jamey Leverett. He went on to attend Marymount Manhattan College; Where in 2022, he graduated receiving his B.F.A. in Dance with a concentration in Modern. In the fall of 2022, Bryan joined the inaugural cohort of Gibney’s Professional Training Program, GibneyPRO, where he continued his training under the leadership of Alexandra Wells, Gilbert T. Small II, and Bret Yamanaka. Bryan has performed works by Hofesh Shechter, Andrea Miller, Yin Yue, Rena Butler, Maleek Washington, Laja Feild, Jenn Freeman, and more. He has also received tutelage through several workshops and intensives including Springboard Danse Montréal, GALLIM, and Johannes Wieland. Bryan began working with GALLIM in fall 2022, and is delighted to continue as a company artist for their 2023 Joyce Season.

EMMA THESING

Emma Thesing is from Chicago, Illinois, where she danced with the pre-professional performing company at Visceral Dance Chicago under the mentorship of artistic director, Nick Pupillo. Emma then went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude with a B.F.A in dance from the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College, SUNY.  While at Purchase she worked with choreographers such as Ana Maria Lucaciu, Joseph Hernandez, Peter Chu, Annie Rigney, Andrea Miller, and Hannah Garner/2nd Best Dance. Additionally, Emma has attended intensives at Arts Umbrella, SHIFT mentorship, Movement Invention Project, River North Dance Chicago, UNCSA, and most recently- Springboard Danse Montreal. Since graduating Emma has danced in GALLIM’s 15th Anniversary Gala/Performances and had opportunities to teach GALLIM methods and repertoire at places such as STEPS on Broadway, Juilliard and GALLIM intensives. Additionally, she has acted as a rehearsal assistant to Andrea Miller in process for new commissions on both the English National Ballet and Abraham in Motion (A.I.M.)

ELLEXIS HATCH

Ellexis Hatch, born and raised in Orlando, Florida, fell in love with dance at Movement Arts Studio. She received her BFA from The Juilliard School in 2022 and supplemental training from LINES Ballet, Arts Umbrella and GagaLabs. During her time at school, she was fortunate enough to perform works by artists such as Aszure Barton, Trisha Brown, Ohad Naharin, Justin Peck, Jamar Roberts and Bobbi Jene Smith. Ellexis feels honored to have been a selected choreographer for Lincoln Center Restart Stages, National Sawdust Festival and Senior Production 2022 at The Juilliard School. She enjoys sharing her passion through teaching for organizations such as Dr. Phillips High School, Orlando Ballet School and Florida Dance Masters. She is extremely grateful and excited to be joining GALLIM for the 2023 Joyce Season.

RYAN VYSKOCIL

Originally from Maryland, Ryan Vyskocil is an artist prioritizing versatility and authentic meaning within

movement, unraveling the body’s capability when expressing experience, history, and emotionality in different spaces. He began training tap and jazz at Dawn Crafton Dance Connection, he continued to ballet at Akhmedova Ballet Academy, as well as training in modern, hip-hop, and contemporary. Finding a love of the unique history and meanings behind each practice, and how they support and differ from one another, hybridity became a lifelong practice and pursuit. Ryan attended the USC Kaufman School, and worked to define new movement through multi-disciplinary study, composition and performance. Learning works by innovators; William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Merce Cunningham, and Tessandra Chavez and training under the guidance of Fiona Lummis, Saleemah Knight, Thomas McManus, Brett Easterling, Bruce McCormick and Jennifer Lott. During school, he began choreography and composition that embodied hybridity, musicality, emotionality, and personal meaning, learnt through creating on and teaching the next generation through Kaufman Connections and studio classes. Upon graduation, Ryan hopes to continue exploring intersections of concert and commercial work, performing and collaborating at the forefront of cross-discipline exploration and creation, while researching the ability of the body to express emotionality and personal experience. He plans to travel, gaining insight into cultures, histories, and people, using the power of storytelling to deeply touch others through movement and narrative, and adding more intrinsic and extrinsic knowledge to his repertoire.

CHANNCE WILLIAMS

Channce Williams began his training at the Center of Creative Arts and Central Visual & Performing Arts High School in St. Louis. He attended Point Park University, where he received his BFA in Dance in 2020. While there, he performed both new and restaged works by Kyle Abraham, Sidra Bell, Martha Nichols, Aszure Barton, and José Limón, among several others. Since graduating, he has performed professionally with The Pillow Project, GroundWorks DanceTheater, and Sidra Bell Dance New York, and participated in various video projects in collaboration with Hannah Garner of 2nd Best Dance. In 2021, his work was featured in the Screendance Miami Festival, produced by Miami Light Project. He has attended training programs at Dance Theatre of Harlem, Nutmeg Conservatory, and Springboard Danse Montréal. Channce is deeply interested in exploring innovative ways of presenting narratives through various mediums of expression, and is excited to continue to investigate different facets of his creative interests as an ever-expanding artist and human.

CHLOE CRENSHAW

Chloe Crenshaw (she/her) is from Los Angeles, California. She danced with Ballet BC as an Emerging Artist under the direction of Medhi Walerski for the 2021/22 season. She holds her BFA in Dance from the California Institute of the Arts (’21) and is a graduate of The HARID Conservatory (’18). Performance credits include work by Danielle Agami, Trisha Brown, Peter Chu, Crystal Pite, David Raymond and Tiffany Tregarthen, Spenser Theberge, and Medhi Walerski, among others. Additional training programs include Springboard Danse Montreal, GagaLab, BODYTRAFFIC, Boston Ballet, and the School of American Ballet. Chloe is thrilled to be working with GALLIM for their Joyce season.

VIVIAN PAKKANEN

Vivian Pakkanen is a finnish dance artist performing internationally with her home base currently in Oslo, Norway where she studied at the Oslo National Academy of The Arts. Afterwards she completed her Master’s degree with the Rambert school for Ballet and Contemporary dance while dancing with Rambert Dance in their 2019/2020 cohort of Rambert2. She has performed internationally in works by artists including Ohad Naharin, Jermaine Spivey, Benoit Swan Pouffer, Sharon Eyal, Fabrice Mazlliah, Daniel Proietto and performed at live concerts and tv programs as well as appeared in the music videos of the artist AURORA. With GALLIM Vivian has performed in the works Sama, BRUCE, FROM and Stone Skipping, in addition to performing the company she is working Miller in research and development for a commission with the English National Ballet as an R&D artist. Her notable projects in Norway include working with choreographers like Ludvig Daae, Ingri Fiksdal, Kristin Helgebostad, Yaniv Cohen, Guro Nagelhus Schia and Vebjørn Sundby, Daniel Grindeland, Kyuja Bae, Ida Haugen and Lisa Bysheim in works performed at The Norwegian Opera and Ballet, Dansens Hus Oslo, Grieghallen, Blackboxteater and Bærum Kulturhus.

GEORGIA USBORNE (Rehearsal Director)

Georgia Usborne is a performer, choreographer and teacher based in Brooklyn. Originally from the UK, she graduated from Central School of Ballet in 2010 and danced with Bern Ballet in Switzerland under the direction of Cathy Marston. In Bern, Georgia worked with choreographers including Alexander Ekman, Adonis Foniadakis, Johan Inger, Didy Veldman and Noa Zuk, and completed her MA in Contemporary Dance. Georgia joined Andrea Miller’s GALLIM in 2014, creating, performing and teaching internationally, and working as GALLIM’s Studio Programming Coordinator from 2018-2019. She continues to work with GALLIM as a Guest Artist, Teacher and Rehearsal Director, as well as collaborating with other NY based choreographers and dance companies. Georgia teaches Improvisation to all ages and levels and choreographs for film, video and live performance. Her dance films have received awards at International Film Festivals. Georgia is the Founding Director of CreateART, interdisciplinary performance and residency platform for emerging art, and has worked as Community Organizer for Arts On Site. She is currently performing as a cast member of Punch Drunk’s Sleep No More.

Ms. Botez (Costume Designer) is a Princess Grace Recipient and NEA/TCG Career Development Program Recipient. Oana walked away recipient of both The Barrymore and Drammy Award.

HALEY SUNG

Haley Sung (Dancer) is originally from South Korea where she began her training in Korean traditional dance. She earned her BFA in Dance from University of the Arts with a “Promising Artist” Scholarship in May 2017 and further studied dance at The Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, Belgium. Upon joining GALLIM in 2017, She has performed locally and globally as a company member and has worked in a few films as a Creative Associate to Andrea Miller. Haley continues to work as a collaborator and teacher in mentoring students and professionals all over the US, helping to stage many of GALLIM’s works. IG: @haleysung

IYVON E.

Iyvon E. (she/her) (Dramaturge) is a Nigerian-American independent creative producer, company manager, and dramaturg hailing from Brooklyn, NY. Iyvon is the Artistic Director and Host of The Parsnip Ship, a radio-play series and platform amplifying underproduced playwrights in the audio theater space. She is a recipient of the Fulbright International Scholarship and Gilman International Scholarship (both to Italy), and The DO School’s Future of Audio Entertainment Fellowship in Berlin. Iyvon was the recipient of the 2019 Mark O’Donnell Prize awarded by The Actors Fund and Playwrights Horizons for emerging, anomalous theater artists. Iyvon has worked with Joe’s Pub, Sundance Institute Theater Program, The Public Theater, The Civilians, The OFFICE, and as an Associate Producer at ArKtype. She is a member of the WP 2020 - 2022 Producers Lab and an Affiliate Dramaturg with Beehive Dramaturgy Studio. B.A. Brandeis University. M.A. Baruch College (CUNY) Arts Administration.

WILL EPSTEIN

Will Epstein is a composer, recording artist and multi-instrumentalist born in New York City. He has performed internationally, released records of songs under his High Water moniker, and composed music for instillations and films. In addition to crafting soundscapes for Gallim’s installation at the Met Breuer, he has collaborated on projects with renowned artists such as Marilyn Minter and Laurie Simmons. He is a regular fixture in New York’s improvised music scene and has released multiple collections of work with the independent label Other People.

LAURYN HAYES

Lauryn Hayes (Apprentice) was born in Texas and moved to New York City to attend Marymount Manhattan College. Lauryn has recently graduated from Marymount with a BFA in Dance and a BA in Business. Lauryn has extensive training in ballet, modern, jazz, and contemporary and has been featured in Vogue España and Harpers Bazaar UK.

JUSTIN HICKS

Justin Hicks (Sound Artist) is a Drama Desk-nominated composer, sound artist, and vocalist who has collaborated with theater makers, musicians, and visual artists such as Abigail DeVille, Kaneza Schaal, Meshell Ndegeocello, Courtney Bryan, Hilton Als, Cauleen Smith, Breck Omar Brunson, Charlotte Brathwaite, Janani Balasubramanian, Sunder Ganglani, and Lee Mingwei. His work has been featured at Lincoln Center, Baryshnikov Arts Center, Performance Space New York, The Bushwick Starr, Jack, Paisley Park, The Whitney Museum of American Art, BRIC Arts Media House, and The Kennedy Center among others. Along with his wife Kenita Miller-Hicks and sister Jade Hicks he is a founding member of the group The HawtPlates whose visual EP "Make me Down: Songs For Making It Through Alive" was commissioned by The Public Theater. He was a member of Kara Walker’s 6-8 Months Space and holds a culinary diploma from The Institute of Culinary Education in New York City.

BRENDAN EVANS

Brendan Evans (Dancer) (he/him) found his love for contemporary dance while training at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts under Jiri Kylian repetiteur, Fiona Lummis. He graduated in 2020 with a BFA from the University of Southern California’s Glorya Kaufman School of Dance under the direction of William Forsythe and Jodie Gates. While training at USC and international intensives like Netherlands Dance Theatre, The School at Jacob’s Pillow, and Springboard Danse Montreal, Brendan performed works by William Forsythe, Crystal Pite, Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin, Fernando Melo, and Barak Marshall. He has performed at Music and More Summerfest in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Los Angeles Art Show, the Joyce Theater, and is a member of the National YoungArts Foundation. After graduation, Brendan designed Kindergarten- 5th Grade dance curriculum for Pasadena Unified School District. In 2021, Brendan joined Northwest Dance Project where he learned and performed works by Ihsan Rustem, Sarah Slipper, Joseph Hernandez, and Yin Yue. Brendan also worked with Franco Nieto’s Open Space Dance Company performing a new work by Keelan Whitmore. Brendan is excited to join Gallim for their 15th Gala performance.

ALLYSEN HOOKS

Allysen Hooks (Creative Assistant) is from Houston, TX where she attended the High School for Performing and Visual Arts. She graduated from The Juilliard School in 2010 and went on to work with Dance Heginbotham, directed by John Heginbotham. Allysen has been working with GALLIM since 2012, and is a close collaborator of director Andrea Miller. She has traveled extensively to perform, teach, and set Miller’s work. She has created her own work at the High School for Performing and Visual Arts and Indiana University.

CHRISTOPHER KINSEY

Christopher Kinsey (Dancer) received his BFA in Contemporary Performance with an emphasis in creating performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Before joining GALLIM in 2019, Christopher danced for Madboots Dance & Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, under the direction of James Sutherland. Christopher creates his own work alongside Maggie Costales for Haus of PVMNT. Their work has been performed at the ICA Boston, The Joyce Theater, Triskelion Arts & Arts On Site. Their most recent film “Cantati Li Me Canti” will be released December 2021. hausofpvmnt.com

CANYON CARROLL

(Dancer) Philadelphia-based queer artist and teacher, Canyon Carroll was born in Roanoke, Virginia and began their dance training at age 10. Canyon was awarded their BFA in performance arts in the spring of 2022 at The University of the Arts under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield. During their time as a student, they’ve had the opportunity to work with and perform in works by Andrea Miller, Annie RIgney, Sidra Bell, Doug Verone and other world renowned artists and faculty. Outside of their studies, Canyon has also mentored young dancers along the East Coast and has set works at various studios. They have had the opportunity to train in Berlin at the B12 summer program where they worked with Scott Jennings, Olivia Anacona, Christina Mertzani, and Guy Nader. Most recently, Canyon was invited to the Centre of National Danse in Paris, France to perform and collaborate a work under the direction of Niall Jones.

PRINCE LYONS

MIMI LIEN

Mimi Lien (Production Designer) is a designer of sets/environments for theater, dance, and opera. Arriving at set design from a background in architecture, her work often focuses on the interaction between audience/environment and object/performer. She hails from New Haven, CT and is based in Brooklyn, NY.

In 2015, she was named a MacArthur Fellow, and is the first set designer ever to achieve this distinction. Selected work includes Natasha, Pierre, & The Great Comet of 1812 (Broadway, TONY Award, Lortel Award, 2013 Hewes Design Award), John (Signature Theatre, 2016 Hewes Design Award), Appropriate (Mark Taper Forum, LA Drama Critics Circle Award), Preludes, The Oldest Boy (Lincoln Center), An Octoroon (Soho Rep/TFANA, Drama Desk and Lortel nominations), Black Mountain Songs (BAM Next Wave). Her stage designs have been exhibited in the Prague Quadrennial in 2011 and 2015, and her sculptures were featured in the exhibition, LANDSCAPES OF QUARANTINE, at the Storefront for Art and Architecture.

Her designs for theater, dance, and opera have been seen around the U.S. at such venues as Lincoln Center Theater, Signature Theatre, Playwright's Horizons, the Public Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, The Joyce Theater, Goodman Theatre, Soho Rep, and internationally at Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre (Russia), Intradans (Netherlands), National Theatre (Taiwan), among many others. Mimi Lien received a B.A. in Architecture from Yale University (1997) and an M.F.A. in Stage Design from New York University (2003).

She is a company member of Pig Iron Theatre Company and co-founder of the performance space JACK.

MISA LUCYSHYN

Misa Kinno Lucyshyn (Dancer) is a dancer based in Brooklyn, NY. She has been a part of GALLIM since 2020— performing Whale and collaborating on a dance film commissioned by Guggenheim's Works & Process series. Prior, she was a dancer with Sidra Bell Dance New York, teaching and performing nationally and internationally. She is currently a student at Columbia University studying psychology.

OSCAR RAMOS

NICOLE PEARCE

Nicole Pearce is a lighting designer based in New York City. She received her BA in Theatre from Kent State University and her Masters in Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts. She began her professional career in 1998 as the Gilbert V. Hemsley Intern with New York City Ballet and New York City Opera then moved into lighting design full time in 2005. She has a formidable body of work of dance and theater including 10 works with Mark Morris, 10 works with Jessica Lang, 6 works with Aszure Barton, 6 works with John Heginbotham and work with Robert Battle. She previously worked with Andrea Miller on her original work, BLUSH. Pearce’s work has received critical acclaim. The Chicago Sun Times called Pearce a “magician” and New York times critic Charles Isherwood observed that “Watching the multicolored lighting of Nicole Pearce play across the shiny white surfaces of the set provides an aesthetic pleasure in itself.”

LYNSEY PEISINGER

Lynsey Peisinger (Co-Director) is a performer, director and choreographer. She co-directed and premiered the opera Seven Deaths of Maria Callas with artist Marina Abramovic at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich in 2020. In 2018 she co-directed the Mile Long Opera, a citywide public engagement project, which brought together 1,000 singers for performances on The High Line in New York City. Peisinger has collaborated with Marina Abramovic on new performances The Cleaner (2017) in Stockholm for which she coordinated and directed the participation of thirty performers and thirty five choirs, and 512 Hours (2014) in London. They also collaborated on a music project, A Different Way of Hearing (2019), at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt. She has presented solo and group performance works at the Fondation Beyeler in Basel, C24 Gallery in New York, SESC Pompeia in Sao Paulo, Performa Paço at Paço das Artes in Sao Paulo, Robert Wilson’s 2nd Annual Berlin Benefit, Hyeres Fashion and Photography Festival, and Kunstfest Weimar. Theatre works include MIDNIGHT, which premiered at Radialsystem Theatre in Berlin in 2016 and Rochambeau, a work in development, both in collaboration with director Tilman Hecker. Since 2011, she oversees reperformances of Abramovic’s historical works and directs the public participatory work The Abramovic Method. She is assistant director on Zinnias: The Life of Clementine Hunter and The Old Woman, both directed by Robert Wilson. She received her MFA in choreography from the Dance Conservatory at Purchase College.

Taylor Stanley (Guest Artist) Taylor Stanley was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and began his dance training at the age of three at The Rock School in Pennsylvania. He attended summer programs at Miami City Ballet in 2006 and 2007 and at the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet, during the summer of 2008 before enrolling full-time at SAB in the fall of that same year. In September 2009, Stanley became an apprentice with New York City Ballet, and joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in September 2010. He was promoted to soloist in February 2013 and to principal dancer in May 2016. Stanley received the Mae L. Wien Award for Outstanding Promise in 2009 and was the 2011-2012 recipient of the Janice Levin Award. He performed with NYCB Soloist Troy Schumacher’s BalletCollective from 2010-2015, and has danced in various works by Jodi Melnick, Andrea Miller, Annabelle Lopez-Ochoa, Liz Gerring, Pam Tanowitz, Kim Brandstrup, and Christopher Williams. Stanley has also participated in workshops with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Nederlands Dans Theater, and Batsheva Dance Company. In 2019, he received a Bessie Award for “Outstanding Performance” in Kyle Abraham’s The Runaway, choreographed for NYCB in 2018. In 2020, Stanley danced a solo work choreographed by Abraham titled Ces noms que nous portons, filmed at Lincoln Center’s Josie Robertson Plaza, and was a guest artist with Gallim Dance on the film adaptation of Andrea Miller’s 2016 piece BOAT. Stanley is currently pursuing his bachelor of arts degree through St. Mary's College of California's LEAP program.

EMILY TERNDRUP

Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Emily Terndrup (Rehearsal Director) is a performer, choreographer, and director based in New York City. Emily has spent much of the past decade working in immersive dance theater as a performer and rehearsal director for Punchdrunk's acclaimed 'Sleep No More' (2012-2019) in both New York and Shanghai. As a company member with Gallim Dance (2012-2014), she performed choreographer Andrea Miller's I Can See Myself in Your Pupil, Blush, Wonderland, Fold Here, and Mama Call throughout the US, Europe, and South America. Emily has also collaborated and performed with choreographers Bobbi Jene Smith, Luke Murphy-Attic Projects, Shannon Gillen + Guests, and Gregory Dolbashian. Most recently Emily served as a rehearsal director at Gallim Dance, and the Creative Director for The McKittrick Hotel, crafting content and choreography for their celebrated immersive parties.

With collaborator Derrick Belcham, she has choreographed, directed, and produced three evening-length dance theater works: FABLE (2015), DEBUT (2014), and The Wilder Papers (2014) at the Knockdown Center in New York. Together, Belcham and Terndrup have created music videos for The Antlers, My Brightest Diamond, Marissa Nadler, White Prism, BLKKathy, and Mary Lattimore. Derrick and Emily's films have been presented at the San Francisco Dance Film Festival, CASCADIA Dance & Cinema Festival, KRAFTA DOC, Greensboro Dance Film Festival, SV Showcase/40 North Film Festival, Triskelion Arts Dance Film Festival, and San Souci Dance Festival. Emily’s other choreographic projects have been presented at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (D.C), Lincoln Center's Clark Studio Theater (NY), The Knockdown Center (NY), The Packing House (CO) and Supercinema (NY).

Connor Speetjens (Dancer) is originally from Greensboro, NC, and graduated high school from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She went on to study at the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance, where she was selected to study abroad at Codarts in Rotterdam, NL. She graduated with a BFA in Dance Performance. She has performed works by Helen Simoneau, Juel Lane, Emory LeCrone, Twyla Tharp, Sarah Mettin, Iker Arrue, Ohad Naharin, Alexandra Beller, and Bobbi Jene Smith. She joined GALLIM as an apprentice in September 2016, and has since performed with GALLIM internationally in some of Miller’s most noted works, including Pupil Suite and WHALE.

ASHLEY HILL

Ashley Hill (Dancer) graduated magna cum laude from East Carolina University and received a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography with a minor in Interpersonal / Organizational Communication. After moving to New York City in 2017, she began performing as a freelance artist. Ashley joined GALLIM in 2018 for the premiere of “To Create a World” at the Joyce Theatre and performed with the company during GALLIM’s Ted Shawn Theater debut at Jacob’s Pillow in 2019. She has been part of new world premieres in addition to helping re-stage GALLIM repertory.

MEGAN MYERS

Megan Myers (Dancer) was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. At the age of 17, Myers was an apprentice with Hubbard Street 2. She continued onto The Juilliard School, where she graduated in 2019. Myers is also an alumnus of The School at Jacob’s Pillow. While at Juilliard, Myers worked with The Pina Bausch Foundation and Silvia Heredia to perform a solo from Bausch’s Vollmond. She has collaborated on dance films and New York Fashion Week presentations for brands including Morgane Le Fay and KES that brought recognition from Vogue.

AMADI WASHINGTON

Amadi Washington (Dancer) grew up in the Bronx, NY, learning African, modern, and hip hop dance forms. My physical perspective is molded by these techniques. I went to school in Ohio at The College of Wooster and graduated with honors in Theatre and Dance, and participated in the One Year Program at The Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. I've worked and performed with Punchdrunk’s Sleep No More, David Dorfman Dance, ChristinaNoel and the Creature, and Falcon Dance. I've had the privilege of teaching and doing lecture-demonstrations Hunter College, Bard College, The University of Maryland, The Hotchkiss School, The Dalton School, and the Angelo Patri Middle School. I also create my own work with my collaborator, Sam Asa Pratt, as Baye & Asa. I'm excited to join Andrea Miller and Gallim for the first time!

SEAN LAMMER

Sean Lammer (Dancer) was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Walnut Hill School for the Arts. As of 2019 he is an alumnus of The Juilliard School where he was fortunate to perform works by Ohad Naharin, Roy Assaf, Martha Graham, Twyla Tharp, José Limón, Katarzyna Skarpetowska and Nacho Duato. Upon graduation Sean has performed will GALLIM, MADBOOTS DANCE, and Helen Simoneau Danse. in 2019 he co-founded BodySonnet, a collective which serves as a medium for intellectual, empowering and accessible dance-centric creations. Apart from performing and creating, he has volunteered as a teaching artist at programs in Botswana, New Orleans and Orlando.

ELIJAH LAURANT

Elijah Laurant was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles. He has received scholarships to train at South Bay Ballet and the Ailey School in NYC. Elijah studied dance with Jamie Carbetta at El Camino College and is one of the founding members of Pony Box Dance Theatre. He has also performed in works by Matthew Rushing, Wendy Baity, Christopher Rudd, Jennifer Mueller, Roberto Villanueva and Joshua Beamish. Most recently, Elijah performed Akram Khan’s choreography at The Shed and was a former company member with Stephen Petronico before joining GALLIM.

SIERRA HENDRIX

Sierra Hendrix is a dance and visual artist from Salem, Oregon. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in DAnce from Cornish College of the Arts in 2017. She has presented choreography and film work in the PNW at BASE: Experimental Arts + Space, On The Boards, Tacoma Art Museum and TUFF Festival.
